NEWS: HSUS and ASPCA are declaring war on dogfighting and have set out “what” signs indicate “dogfighters”….If you crate dogs, put them in pens, tether them, if you own a treadmill for dogs? What this really is: HSUS is guilty of proposing laws where THEY TAKE the proceeds via forfeiture (in criminal cases usually) from dogfighting proceeds–and NOT the state. This has been attempted in CA and TN and will keep going to other states. Perhaps, AZ and GA and AR and FL and NC? Also suspected that HSUS is targeting anyone with a dog kennel and hiring people to go surveil owners. The Open fields doctrine allows surveillance of people’s yards and homes (outside the house) even using trespassing to do this–it is often used by game wardens. Most people do not realize this. If you own a dog kennel it’s usually outside! We are urging all dog owners and dog businesses to consider getting a prepaid legal plan which PETPAC has available, with an attorney who is familiar with the plan(s) to answer questions. We want owners to be considered forewarned and prepared—now that AB1634 has been defeated—there will only be more tactics used by the AR proponents. Just a comment, this was a comment but not by an attorney; rather, this is by a person that has actually written legislation and raised/shown/bred/studied dogs. This was before 1634 was amended. The current state of 1634 on 8/21/08 is kept current on Pet Connection, but PETPAC got word Levine was trying to slip a fast one and change the bill’s number to another number. Whether that took place I dont know. Petpac website (http://www.petpac.net) usually updates.
